Strong evidences have proven that subordinates are more likely to crack on a misconduct by fellow employees once their superiors have introduced them to a formal corporate code of ethics. That is why, it becomes essential for employers to offer ethics programs to their employees and assure them that their identities would be kept anonymous after they report unethical behaviors of their colleagues. Organizations can also appoint an outside ethics officer who would monitor the behavior of the employees. The ethics officers can be both reactive and proactive. They should act as a middleman between the employees and the employers. They should attempt to make the corporate code of ethics known throughout the entire organization and also respond to various complaints as well as take them up with the respective heads of departments. The success of each business depends on how well the organization is able to incorporate the corporate code of ethics into its system. Once the code is put into place and implemented accordingly, there is no stopping the business from becoming organized and disciplined. |
